In this super quick and easy Final Cut Pro X tutorial, I’ll show you how you can take pretty much any scene and quickly add fireworks bursting in the sky. This tutorial was centered around the U.S. Fourth of July Holiday but obviously you can use the technique for any holiday or special event.
What makes this tutorial easy is that you don’t have to worry about masking out the existing sky or even worry about motion tracking, as long as you don’t have a video with tons of motion. You can achieve this result but using two built in effects in FCPX and those are blending modes and a simple Gradient Mask.
