Color grading your video footage and be difficult for beginner editors. Especially when you see all of those Hollywood movies that seem to have impossibly beautiful colors and tones but it really is easy when you start to understand it.
This is why I have decided to start a new video tutorial series called “DISSECT”. This new series is a very simple concept but it can really open up your eyes to creating new ways of color grading your videos. In this series, we take an Inspirational video or photo and learn how to achieve the same look and feel to apply to our footage. Even though I will show you how you can do this on your own, I will offer the LUT or Preset that is created during this video as a FREE download (just click the button at the bottom of this post).
For this video, I found a city scene on Pexels Video that has some awesome colors and tones. I call this new LUT “City Love” and in this video you can see exactly how we created it, exported the LUT and use it in Final Cut Pro X!
